The right to apply for and to claim an **Heirship Certificate** is a **personal right**, it does not survive the applicant and ends on the applicant’s death. The applicant’s legal heirs cannot continue the heirship proceeding or the appeal or lapse.
The heirs of the deceased applicant can file a fresh applicant for heirship certificate for themselves. However, if one of many applicants dies, other applicants can continue the heirship.
However, the heir of or legatee under the will of the objector can seek to represent the objector.
